Wellington Country Park and Campsite is located just off the A33 near Riseley, in between Reading and Basingstoke on the Hampshire Berkshire border. Established in 1974 by the Eighth Duke and Duchess of Wellington, the Park provides a destination where … the growing population of the Thames Valley and all over the South of England can enjoy outdoor pursuits, discover natural history and develop an interest in the countryside. The Park is set within 350 acres of beautiful Hampshire countryside. With lakes, parkland, open spaces, mature deciduous and coniferous woods linked by nature trails, picnic sites and superb play areas and equipment, including adventure play/toddler areas, sand pits, slides, miniature railway, crazy golf, nature trail maze and Animal Farm (2010), the Park offers the chance for relaxation, entertainment and education all in one place. Trails deep into the woods, allow you to explore and experience an array of animals, trees and birdlife and to see our herd of red and fallow deer up close!! You can choose between The Water Fowl, Bird Spotter’s, Antler or Woodland Trails! Our campsite offers the beauty and tranquillity of a woodland, with open parkland, lakes and nature trails to explore. Included in your stay, is FREE entry to the Country Park where the kid's can let off steam. Climb on, in and through an assortment of play equipment, an adventure play area, slides, dig in sand pits, play crazy golf and ride our miniature railway, theres plenty to keep them busy. The Campsite is an ideal touring base for Hampshire, Berkshire and the South, with easy access for the M3 and M4 motorways. For guests travelling to or from Europe, we are a convenient distance from the Channel ports. Our touring caravan, motor home and tent campsite has 72 pitches and offers the beauty and tranquillity of woodland, with open parkland, lakes and nature trails to explore. The Campsite is an ideal touring base for Hampshire, Berkshire and the South, with easy access for the M3 and M4 motorways. PLEASE NOTE BOOKING IS ESSENTIAL. The historic cathedral cities of Winchester and Salisbury, Windsor Castle, and the University town of Oxford are within an hour’s drive and much nearer are the superb shopping facilities in Reading's Oracle Centre and Basingstoke's Festival Place. Other attractions close by include Legoland, Thorpe Park and Chessington to entertain the kid's and for the grown ups, Ascot and Kempton Race Courses; all of which provide a host of entertainment. A 35 acre lake provides the central focus to the main Park area, which is surrounded by plenty of open spaces and is the perfect location for a family picnic. Our on-site cafe and shop offer a selection of drinks, main meals, snacks, toys and gifts.
